AIRLOC a solder-free, airtight perfect fusion between the two metals of cable and plug. This ‘cold weld’ method allows the cable and plug to offer the optimum signal transfer and therefore, better sound quality. It also reduces contact resistance and ensures perfect long-term performance.

UPOFC stands for Ultra Pure Oxygen Free Copper. Van Damme now use a higher purity oxygen free copper for the conductors that is UPOFC. The use of this material further improves the solder-ability and conductivity of the conductor resulting in faithful and transparent signal reproduction. Contrary to appearances, this is an important factor, because it depends not only on the volume of the sound, but also on the acceptable power output.So if is the thicker conductor wire then the lower its resistance and the greater the current strength. On the other hand, do not overdo it with its diameter. As for the length of the speaker cables, the rule is: the shorter the better. The excess of the cable unnecessarily increases its resistance, the more so that the resistance in the cable counts double: from the amplifier to the loudspeaker and back. Thus, every meter more 2-wire cable is like 2 meters more in its entire length. For the same reason, it is important to remember that the length of the cable is the same in both channels (left and right), both in the stereo system and the home theater. In home cinema systems, the front speaker cables are usually shorter than to the rear speakers, but it is important that the speakers of each pair (front or rear) are powered with a cable of the same length. Theoretically, there is no upper limit when it comes to the length of the speaker wire, but they are the sizes recommended by specialists depending on the impedance (the smaller the impedance, the greater the current flows in the cable, so it must be shorter).
