ShawlineX ARAY Analogue XLR
ARAY cables require a degree of precision achieveable only with careful hand assembly. ShawlineX XLR is built using XLPE insulated, silver-plated conductors and a composite shielding material that works over a wide bandwidth.
Three identical conductors are employed for each connection, in a similar configuration to our Signature and Sarum XLR cables. There is much debate about whether balanced XLR or RCA is the best. If you have both connector types available on your equipment listen to both before deciding.
Fitted with ChorAlloy™plated connector pins. Available in 0.5 and 1m standard lengths with custom lengths/terminations to order.
The Chord Company Shawline range places refinement and sophistication centre stage. A wide variety of analogue and digital connections are available alongside the latest XLPE insulated speaker cable. The range now boasts a dedicated tone arm cable, HDMI AOC and an updated power cable with multiple connector options. Our unique ARAY geometry is applied wherever possible along with increasingly complex layers of shielding.

A cable proven via hours of demo sessions with all manner of hi-fi equipment – so don’t think you won’t hear the benefit on an older system. The Shawline range boasts a dedicated tone arm cable, mini-jack options, HDMI AOC, power cables with multiple connector options, speaker cable and a variety of digital connections.
Why XLPE?
The construction and specification of all Chord Company cables are constantly evolving, allowing them to adapt quickly and take advantage of the latest technology. Insulation materials in particular have made great leaps forward which is why they are moving to XLPE (cross-linked polyethylene) for ShawlineX ARAY.
After a succesful introduction via various Chord Company speaker cables it was logical to share the benefits of XLPE insulation with their interconnects. On the surface this would appear to be a fairly simple undertaking but, like many of these things, it got complicated..
Several versions and much field testing later Chord are very happy to announce that XLPE will now be incorporated into all ShawlineX analogue interconnects. The new upgraded ShawlineX ARAY analogue cable retains the same high-performance shielding architecture and ARAY technology as its predecessor.
Shawline X Analogue RCA cables are Available.
Standard lengths are 1m and 0.5m and because the Shawline X is built in-house, custom lengths are available.
- Ensure all equipment is switched off before fitting or removing your cables.
- Connect the cable ensuring the arrow on the cable points away from the source component.
- When fitting or removing cables, hold the plug and apply a gentle twisting motion.
- Never pull the cable directly.
- Avoid touching the contact areas on the plug.
- Ensure you route the cable away from speaker and power cables.
